Two to Tango

As many of you know since 2000 the powers that be in the design world miraculously select a Pantone color to name "Color of the Year." This color is based on trends found on the runway, as well as very well researched predictions.
This year, I was very excited to see that the chosen color is the vibrant shade of orange better known as Tangerine; "tangerine tango" to be exact. This perfect mix of orange, and ruby red coral pairs extremely well with bronze, turquoise and pink, just to name a few.
Now the question now is: How do we incorporate this exuberant color in to our lives without overwhelming the senses?? Well my friends, here are a few of my suggestions:

Puzzled

I already put a "pin in it", but I had to share this because I think it's phenomenal. I'm always telling people that there are creative ways to maximize space in a small interior and this table/stool combo proves that! These mango wood or silver foil wrapped jigsaw tables designed by Katy Frank are beyond amazing. The interlocking pieces can be used as stools, end tables or when grouped together a coffee table. Talk about chic efficiency!

Heavy Metal

Lately I've been extremely in to metal in all forms, shapes, and tones. I really love the idea of mixing and matching different types of metals throughout a space to give it character and a bit of edginess. Interchanging shiny polished nickle surfaces with pitted and rusted bronze pieces; or crackled gold objects with dull powder coated silver items can add so much depth to any space. The textures and the tones are effortlessly chic.
Here are a few pieces I'm REALLY loving right now!

2012 First Favs!

It a Brand new year... and guess what that means? Brand new products, color trends and places we love. The first official obsession for the new year is the Jonathan Adler Utopia line. These dual-sided brown stoneware vases, mugs and decorative items are over the top chic and quirky in the best way. My personal favorites are the Large Man/Woman vase. Adding large sunflowers or bright pink peonies will add a touch happy to any table top. Add some umbrellas and place it in a foyer and you have the chicest umbrella stand around. If you don't have room for the larger pieces the mugs are a wonderful addition to your morning coffee. They just make you smile!

I'm also really digging the new store CWonder. This preppy, vibrant store will make you feel like you fell down the rabbit hole and you'll never want to leave! The home decor and jewelry are unique and affordable (my two favorite words!) Check out a few of my favs.

Time after Time

I've always been a huge fan of the watch. A good watch can set off your accessories and be a perfect finishing touch for an outfit. That being said I think that an amazing clock in a space can also set an interior apart. Check out a few of these incredible clocks by Karlsson Klocks. Can we say Ah-MA-ZING :)

Light up My Life

Every project I've worked on since I was in school has always had three important features:
1.Clean lines
2. Amazing artwork
3. Lighting
After working on several projects I really began to notice the importance of #3 on the list : Lighting. Not only is it a functional  and fundamental element but if you use the right fixture it can completely transform your space.
Here are few few vintage and new fixtures that are a cut above the rest!
